Chuckanut Footrace 7 miler

What a fun race this is?  I always try to bring one or more friends, and/or a family member along to this one.  It is always so beautiful to run thru the race course, which leads thru gorgeous trails to Larabee Park on Chuckanut Dr.  And this year I had more than a handful of friends run it, and even James (he has ran it 3 other times) was a good sport and at least walked some of it.  He really refused to run it, but since I had signed him up, he at least committed to finishing the race.  Eliza ran it for the first time.  All of 7 miles, without training much.  She had a fantastic expereince and can't wait to do it again next year.  And Rob made it fun for her.  We are so proud of her accomplishment- I believe this was her very first time running 7 miles.  Great Job BIRDIE!
I was also excited to have seen so many familiar faces, including my OBGYN Dr.  It was a great year.
P.S  We were also featured (as a family of runners) in the Local Bellingham Herald Newspaper just a few days prior to the race.  It was meant as publicity towards the race.  We had been interviewed just a week or so before and had the impression that it was going to be a small article about us to encourage families and folks to run the race.  But we made the front cover of the sports' page instead.  I was a little blushed by it, I didn't expect the attention we received from it.  But I am so glad we were able set such a good example for other local families and friends.  It was a great experience!

James first E.F.Y in Tacoma, WA

James had the opportunity to go to EFY this year for the first time in Tacoma.  With the help of some family members, and our neighbor, we were all able to pitch in financially to send him on this great adventure.  He came home pooped, and slpet over 14 hours.  We had him give a FHE a couple of nights later on his esperience, and we couldn't get enough of him.  He had so much to share and say.  It was an unforgettable experience for him.  I can't wait to send him again one of these years.  I also will definitely be sending our girls.  At least once, they have to experience this week as James has.  He really can't wait to do it again!  He is such an amazing kid!

This is James after 3 hours of sleeping in the car...then he crashed on the couch for a few more hours, and then hit the sack for good in his bed for another 8 hours or so.  Very funny!

This is this Year's EFY theme Song:  ARISE AND SHINE

Flowers and Bugs...

I couldn't believe how many spiders we saw this Summer...and let's not forget the Flowers that bloomed as well.  I was so impressed by the beautiful creations of our Lord and had to captured them as best I could thru the lens of my camera.  I will apologize in advance if the bugs creep you out a bit.  I really had fun taking pictures of these amazing creatures and flowers.
