New Family Pictures...

I'm sorrounded by the most talented people, especially photographers.  My friend Courtney Bowlden from our Ward took our family photos this year.  The results are pure bliss.  She is very talented and the pictures prove that.  Thank you Miss Courtney, you are AMAZING!

Once In A Blue Moon...

Once in a while we have the privilege of enjoying some Thunder storms.  We have had some weird weather lately, well, it has been a weird Summer (much too cool for my liking).  But we had some awesome thunderstorms on Saturday night.  The sky was partially clouded, with some sun light coming thru and then a rainbow across the horizon.  The colors of the sky were beautiful and the roaring sounds plus the lighting were quite a display to be amazed by.  The rain that came after was even more spectacular.  I had to sit outside with Rob,and some kiddos to enjoy it and hear the sounds better.  But Sophia had the most fun and just couldn't resist getting wet.  She was so cute and giggly about it all.  The rain was freezing cold but she still did it.  I loved watching her little lips shivering after.  So cute!  Gotta love Bellingham and its unique weather forecast!  I just would like to have a warmer Summer, maybe even some warm weather would be accepatable, heehee!

Wind Horse Half- Marathon...

I heard about this race about 3 weeks ago and just had to sign up for it.  It feels great to find races that I can participate in where part of my registration fee goes towards helping others.The Wind Horse Half- Marathon and Relay Race "raises funds for children in Mongolia to attend school. $50.00 covers annual expenses for textbooks, school supplies, and school uniforms for a child. Bellingham’s newest sister city, Tsetserleg, Mongolia, will become official this  Summer. Funds from this race will be presented by delegates from Bellingham when citizens from both cities sign their Sister Cities agreement this August in Tsetserleg."  http://windhorserun.com/?page_id=42

It was a nice course to run (from Fairhaven Park to Clayton Beach); a familiar one,which helped a lot.  It amazes me how I just never get bored of running our beautiful local trails.  There are so many and the Interurban Trails are one of the most beautiful ones to run. 

The weather was wet (it rained the whole time) and a little cooler than I would have wanted, but it actually was perfect over all.  Running 13.1 miles felt GOOOOOOOD!  I guess after running 5 full marathons the last 20 months this came as a nice change.  I think I will be running more of these the next year.  Perhaps take a little break from the full marathons!  I'll definitely be running this one again next year. 

There were only 52 participants, so it was a very quaint race.  Perhaps next year I can get someof oyu to join me, maybe you could get a small relay team going if you don't want to run all 13 miles.  It is worth it!  I will be running Ragnar next weekend, I'm so excited and thenI signed up to run a half-marathon in Park City, UT.  I don't know what I was thinking, but I can't wait to see how that goes!

P.S  Oh, instead of receiving a medal, the finishers received this Blue Scarf called "khadag" which is a symbol of peace and honour.  I thought that was pretty sweet.  We also enjoyed some Mongolian grill, music and these mini scone like things, yum!  There were also prizes given away.  I got a giant drinking mug.   It was a fun race to be a part of...'til next year.

P.S 2...I got the #5 this year, which happens to be my favorite number, so cool!
