Two for the Road...

I had the opportunity to volunteer this year in a local 5K race.  Even though I wanted to be running it, I had a great experience and a lot of fun helping out with set up and sign-ups, as well as cleaning up after.  I also had the delightful joy of seeing familiar faces there (friends) and cheering them on.  The weather was perfect too.  Maybe I will run this one next year and volunteer to help out in another one...

They are as cute as a couple gets...

Valentine's Day 2012...

We always have the most simplest way of celebrating Holidays.  For Valentine's day we always have a pink breakfast.  The milk, eggs and pancakes are all colored in pink, and the pancakes are Heart Shaped (stamped with a cookie cutter).  This year I added some fun homemade cupcakes.  The day before Valentine's, I attended a fun Relief Society activity which involved learning how to decorate cupcakes.  My sweet friend Emily is super talented and makes the most deeeelicious cupcakes and frosting ever.  Especially the frosting and we are not Frosting people.  But we will eat Emily's.  I had so much fun learning and chatting with friends.  Thank you Emily!
The kids really enjoyed the cupcakes.  I think it will become a new family tradition.  I just pray Emily is here for the rest of her life so that I can have this tradition with her...of making and decorating cupcakes for Valentine's Day!

Family Reunion Slideshow #2, Temple trip and more...

"In God's eternal plan, salvation is an individual matter; exaltation is a family matter."
--Russell M. Nelson

On one of our days, all of the adults attended a session together at the Temple and we all got family names to do the work for.  This was such a special day.  We filled up the endowment room with our family.  It was the sweetest thing to be a part of.  I was so touched by the spirit and filled with so much joy, happiness, peace and love.  I never wanted the day to end.  It is not this often that we have opportunities like these...to meet as a family and do the Lord's work together.  Sweet memories...it is a blessing to be a part of such a wonderful family.

Slide show #2... More swimming and "Minute to Win It" games.  Rob was the host of the games!  It was super fun.  Thank you Rob for being our best entertainer and game coordinator, you did a fantastic job!

Gulliver Family Reunion part 2...Slideshow #1

"The strength of any community lies in the strength of its families. The strength of any nation lies in the strength of its families. Strong family life comes of strong and clear religious understanding of who we are, and why we are here, and of what we may eternally become. Strong family life comes of the perception that each of us is a child of God, born with a divine birthright, and with a great and significant potential. Strong family life comes of parents who love and respect one another, and who love and respect and nurture their children in the ways of the Lord. These are undergirding principles of our teachings as a church. To the degree that we observe these teachings we build strong families whose generations will strengthen the nation."
--Gordon B. Hinckley, "Mormon Should Mean More Good", Ensign, Nov. 1990, 51

Gulliver/Tobler/Wilson Family Reunion in Pasco...

This is a long awaited post.  We had quite the Summer with family gatherings and activities.  This Reunion was the very first one for the Gulliver side of things.  Rob's Grandma Gulliver sure deserved this reunion years before, but the wait was worth it.  I believe we had just about everyone there for the exception of a few family members on the Tobler side.
We got to meet 2nd cousins and see cousins we had not seen for years.  We met babies we had not met, new "in-laws", Fiancees.  I loved and enjoyed seeing Rob's parents and sisters and their families the most.  I loved meeting Matt's (Rob's baby brother) Fiancee, now wife.  I loved chasing after little kids trying to get pictures of them.  And of course I took way too many.
I really hope this one is the first of many.  I love being with Family.  Rob's and mine...
Due to the vast amount of pictures, I have created a slideshow (next post).  Please be patient and enjoy as you view some of my favorite shots.  Wonderful memories were created and new friendships were born.
Thank you Mom and Dad Tobler and Family.  Thank you Grandma Gulliver.  Thank you Aunt Claudia and Family, Thank you Uncle Tom and Family.  We love you all.  Let's not wait too many years to get together as a family again!
These pictures were taken by Cousin Heather Hamer, who is a professional photographer and Myself.  But these she edited.  Thank you Heather!

The Gum Wall in Seattle...and Uncle Erick...

I totally forgot that when we picked up James in Seattle from his trip to Utah, we spent the afternoon playing in Seattle and going to places we had not been before.  All these years of living in WA, and we never stopped to see the famous Wall of Gum and the Giant Troll, we waited until July to see those things, after we dropped off my Little Brother Erick.
We also visited a couple of Museums and Zoo/Aquarium and checked out the WWU's Library where a scene from Harry Potter was supposedly filmed? Then we visited this cemetery near the Airport, that was actually a good experience. Anyhow, we had a great time and it was a joy to have James back.  I love that boy and we missed him a ton!
And I was grateful to have had my little brother Erick visiting us.  He had just gotten back from his mission and I had not seen him for almost three years.  That a joy to see him again!
