We need your prayers...

The Tobler family is asking all of our family members and friends to join us in prayer this week. I had an ultrasound this morning and no heart beat was found on our little baby. I will have another ultrasound on Thursday. There is definitely one little pea in the pod, for those that were wondering if I was having twins. We just need your prayers, faith and support on this. We are in the Lord's hands at this point and His Will is what we are after. We are at His mercy! Thank you!

Erick's mission call...

My baby brother Erick, has received his mission call to Atlanta, Georgia. (Spanish Speaking). He will be going into the MTC the first week of December. I am so very proud of him. He is the very first Delgado-Medina to serve a full-time mission in our family. He is a Pioneer! He is making a historical moment to pass on from generation to generation. His story will be told and used as an example of Pioneer heritage. Congratulations little brother. I love you and I cannot wait for you to serve the Lord for two years in Georgia.

Eliza reads to sisters...

Eliza has become our bookworm lately. James is a very quiet reader, you hardly see him reading because he is more private about it and he likes quiet. But, I know he loves to read and does it often. Now, to see our Eliza picking up every book she can get her hands on and actually reading it all, that is a blessing!? She has become our "nightly reader" to her sisters, before bedtime she reads them several stories. She does such a good job, and her sisters love it. It is a great bonding moment for them and they sit so still together without bickering. I was concerned that she was never going to like reading, and that she would be like me, just read out of necessity and not much enjoyment (I'm working on changing that someday). My kids set such a good example of "loving to read" and they are passing that on to each other. I am so blessed for that!

Camera Queen...

Sophia gets a hold of the camera more often than I realize. Only when I download my pictures do I notice the odd things being photographed. She also knows how to take videos. What a smart cookie she is?! I get a kick out of looking at the stuff she has taken pictures of. She really likes close-ups. Unfortunately her close-ups don't turn out too great! She just shoots away without any purpose. It is so neat! Perhaps she will become a professional photographer someday!

Baking with apples and bloody finger...

Thanks to our sweet friends the Loveland's we were able to get a ton of fresh apples from their apple trees this week. Sophia and I decided that instead of cleaning house and doing laundry we would spend most of our day baking with these apples. We got online and watched several Martha Stewart videos and narrowed it down to three recipes. "Apple Spice Cake", "Buttery Apple Cake" and "Apple Crisp". We baked away, cutting all the apples and mixing all sorts of ingredients. I did have to stop and give Sophia a reminder about Safety and sharp knives. She was wanting to cut apples by herself. I let her have a butter-knife and watched her carefully, then I told her it was my turn to cut and I used the sharp one. Well, I gave myself a very bad cut, and Sophia had to remind me about Safety with sharp knives. Don't worry I didn't bleed on the apples I was cutting. I started bleeding after I ran cold water on the cut and then realized how much bigger of a cut it really was. I stopped and prayed that it would stop bleeding. It was a bit scary! It did, of course, but I struggled to cut with a bandaged finger the rest of the time. So, Sophia had to help with her butter-knife, and she did a fabulous job. We made some yummy treats and got to use most of our apples. We had fun together! P.S Juliette joined us later, after school.

Head bands...

Eliza struggles with fashion. She likes to be unique and non-fashionable. She just puts anything together to wear even if it doesn't match at all. She came out the other day and told me that she was wearing a new head-band style that she had created, I asked her to show me and this is what I got...she will become a famous Designer someday!

Dogwood tree fruit...

We went to the Chiropractor the other day and Sophia on the way to the office found this red berry like fruit on the ground. She was so fascinated by it, she just wanted to taste it and cut it open to see what it looked like inside. I told her that we had to find out what it was first before we attempted to eat it, just in case it was poisonous. She agreed to that. We asked Dr. Winn and his wife what it was and they said that it came from the Dogwood tree in thier backyard of the office, and that they came out every fall and stay there until Spring. We became more curious about it, so we did the research. They are not eatable, and they are more bird food than anything. They survive thru the Fall and Winter (if birds don't eat them) and blossom in the Spring. It gives a beautiful white flower. Sophia was very intrigued and happy with the information and pictures we found. I just had to share how sweet her mind is and how very willing she is to learn and ask about the world around her.

I forgot Juliette...

I am telling you right now, that I should not be allowed to have a fifth child in my care. The kids before school decided to procrastinate and get distracted, and instead of doing my usual "20 reminders" thing I decided to let them suffer the natural consequences of their choices and lack of action. I knew that they would miss the bus and that they would be late for school. But, I went along with my plan. Well, they missed the bus and they were 10 minutes late for school. James couldn't believe that this was happening to him, he even tried to blame me for not reminding him about time and other things. I just chuckled and told him to think about it deeper and then he would realize who was truly to blame. He can tell time and he knows exactly what needs to get done every morning. Same with the girls, they were all so obliviuos of time!Anyhow, I had to sign in the kids for being late, so I went into the office and sign them in. As I got in the van, I turned back and found Juliette poutting and then she says to me "You forgot me!" It was the saddest and funniest thing ever. She still doesn't know how to get unbuckled from her carseat and so she didn't get out. I had to laugh at myself. I had totally forgotten that I had Juliette and that she is a Kindergartener. It was just one of those days...

Grammie's box of shells...

Sophia got this cute wooden decorated box for her birthday this year from "Grammie Deb" and she has loved it. It came with a handful of shells in all shapes and colors. It has become her treasure and no one is allowed to touch this box. Then the other day "Grammie" gave her a heart-shaped shelled box and now she has a second favorite box that no one can touch! It is so cute to watch her gently take out her shells and put them back in. She was disappointed that not all of the shells fit in her new box, but she said it was alright and that it could be her bracelet box. I just thought that was so adorable! Thank you "Grammie Deb".

James and Nutella...

So, we have not had a month of school yet and the kids are bored of the same kinds of sandwiches everyday. I remember eating only two kinds of foods at school in my lunch, an Arepa, and some kind of sandwich (like tuma or ham). I didn't have so many choices. My kids are spoiled. What is wrong with a PB&J, or a Turkey sandwich, or tuna? Then I decided to make "at-home" lunchables (like my sister-in law). I bought the special canadian bacon slices and sliced the cheese, then got them some flavored crackers...that only lasted one day! So, I gave into the worst of all in my book for a nutritious sandwich for school...NUTELLA. They are loving this stuff like crazy. I figured that they get a nutritous meal twice a day and that one meal of sugar will not kill them. It is so against my values!! I am just picking my battles at his point, and I am hoping it is just a phase!

James has a specific way of preparing his NUTELLA sandwich. It is almost gourmet like...NOT!! He has to have it on a hot dog bun, then he has to toast it, but since it doesn't fit in the toaster he has a rotation method. He turns on the toaster and then proceeds to watch the time, as he sets his bun on the top, and every so many seconds or minutes he flips the bun over until it is toasted on every side. It is quite fascinating to watch. I just laughed the other day adn took some pictures. He asked me to not blog him on this one, but I told him that he couldn't keep me from doing so.

New kitties...

Our awesome neighbour "Grammie Deb" got two new kittens. They are absolutely cute. The girls are just overly in love with them. Rob is allergic to cats, so the fact that the neighbour has kittens as pets, it is a dream come true for them. They would love to have some at home, but we can't and we never will. So, we go accross the street, give them our love and then we come home. Pretty easy pet care!!! One is a female and the other a male. The girl's name is "Spike" and the boy doesn't have a name yet. He is more mild and cuddly than the girl...She is so hyper and can't hold still (she scratches and Sophia doesn't care at all). But, she sure can purr when she gets a rub down! Spike is very unique in colors, she is absolutley beautiful to me. You can see for yourself. P.S. I had the hardest time taking pictures of the kittens...especially "Spike".
