"Snowcation" Week...

I stole the phrase "Snowcation" from a friend on Facebook.  I thought it was super appropriate for the week we all had here in Bellingham.  What started as a "3-Day Weekend" for Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday, became our "Snowcation".  I can't remember the last time we had this much snow, approximately 17" high.  It was absolutely beautiful.  But dangerous as well.  I attempted to attend Stake Conference just 40min. away from home and ended up driving back with the kids because of the snow.  It was scary for me.  Rob had to talk me through some stuff, James volunteered to drive (very nice, but not his time yet) and Bro. Brownell saved us from being completely stranded in the snow.
Anyhow, school was cancelled all week, so the kids had a lot of fun playing in the snow every moment they could; sledding, building igloos and caves, having snow fights.  James tried to do some cross country skiing, jumped off our water pump's roof and even rode his bike for fun.  He loves being adventurous.
But they also had some time indoors.  We watched a lot of movies and drank a lot of hot cocoa.  I enjoyed making soups and baking, but missed running, a lot.  The kids laughed, fought, cried, ate, played, and played, read books and drove me crazy!  But, I'm truly grateful to have them in my life and I wouldn't have it any other way.  They are great kids!  I am blessed to have them!

 

 

 

I'm ready for school to start again that is for sure!
