17 Years Ago...

It amazes me, to this day still, how Rob and I met.  My Patriarchal Blessing was so specific as far as telling me to choose good friends, and to choose friends with the same beliefs and standards as me.  Because from amongst these friends I would meet a special friend, who would be worthy to take me to the Temple of the Lord where we would be sealed for all Time and Eternity.  I hearkened and was blessed in more ways that I could have ever dreamed or hoped for.
I certainly did not like him at first, after all he was dating one of my College roommates at B.Y.U.  And then he broke up with her to pursue me.  If it wasn't for her encouragement to say yes to him when he first asked me out, I don't know if I would of pursued him (Thank you Rebecca).  It is amazing how it all worked out.  I am more grateful for Rob's persistence, commitment, and all that he did to win me over (he was also my secret admirer for a month).  I'm mostly grateful for him falling in love with me first.  He will always love me the most.
I have to say that through the years married life has not been easy, but it has gotten better.  We both have made so many changes to improve our relationship and help our love grow.  We have become the best of friends.  He is my life!
I thank my Heavenly Father daily for him.  My heart is full.  I have never felt so cared for, so pampered, so loved by anyone before.  He Spoils me!  He is so selfless and never ceases to amaze me with all the things he does to make our life better and happier.  All the big and small things that he does are gifts, they are a blessing in my life.  He does it all with so much love in his heart.
I love how much he has grown in the gospel.  He is such a spiritual Giant.  I love his testimony.  I love his heart, his soul, his mind.  He even runs Marathons for me!!  WOW!  That is TRUE LOVE!  Thank you Rob for all that you do, for who you are, for who you are becoming.  For being such a wonderful provider and Father.  For being such a magnificent friend and husband.  Thank you for being YOU!

 

Thank you for loving me all these years.  I truly look forward to the next 50 years with you, maybe more if Heavenly Father grants us such blessing.  I LOVE YOU!  Happy Anniversary!  These have been the best 17 years of my life so far.  Thank you!
